148 arrested for violating Section 144 in Lahore

Police have nabbed 148 members of banned outfits who were involved in collecting sacrificial skins in Lahore, it was reported on Friday.

Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of Police Mohammad Faisal Kamran said that 74 accused were arrested who collected sacrificial skins without obtaining permission from the district administration.

He said that 64 cases were registered in Lahore in this regard. DIG Faisal Kamran said that 70 accused were arrested and 49 cases were registered against persons for roasting trotters illegally (siri-paye).

17 nabbed for one-wheeling

Dolphin Force arrested 17 motorcyclists who were involved in one-wheeling at different roads of Lahore during Eid holidays.

A spokesman of Dolphin Force said that on the directives of Deputy Inspector-General Operations, some hotspots were established for monitoring of one-wheeling.

He said that Dolphin Force focused on these hotspots and arrested all those motorcyclists who were plying the roads. Now they are spending their Eid holidays behind bars.

The spokesman said that these motorcyclists were arrested from Mughalpura, Defense, Ghalib Market, Shalimar, and Ferozepur Road areas. He said that these motorcyclists were also harassing the general public.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dolphin Bilal Ahmad said that Dolphin’s sector in-charges also held a counselling session on the main roads of the city against one-wheeling.

He advised parents to keep a close eye on their children’s activities and warned that this negligence may turn into a bloody dream.
