Trade resumes as Iran-Pakistan business visas reinstated after one year

Pakistan has restored the trade visa facility at the Taftan border for traders, marking the resumption of an important cross-border commercial route with Iran after nearly a year-long suspension, it was reported on Thursday.

According to official sources, the facility has been reactivated following a notification issued by the Balochistan Home Department, formally reopening the pathway for trade-related travel between the two neighbouring countries.

The restoration of the visa system is expected to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Iran, while also creating new employment opportunities for local traders and businesses operating in border regions.

Traders across the region have welcomed the decision, describing it as a long-awaited and positive development that could help revive economic activity and improve livelihoods.
