Pakistan’s national hockey team received a warm welcome at a special reception hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in London, with officials, former players, and supporters celebrating the team’s recent performances and expressing hope for a brighter future for the country’s national sport.
The event was organized by Haseeb Bin Aziz, an official at the Pakistan High Commission, who welcomed the players and management on behalf of the diplomatic mission. High Commission staff and guests gathered to recognize the team’s efforts during its recent tour and encourage the players as they continue their journey toward international success.
Addressing the gathering, Manzoor-ul-Hasan, head coach of the national team, said Pakistan hockey has embarked on a new chapter and that the squad is showing clear signs of progress with every passing day.
He highlighted the team’s spirited performances against India in matches played in England, describing them as evidence of the squad’s growing confidence and competitiveness. According to the coach, Pakistan displayed remarkable fighting spirit against higher-ranked and more experienced opponents, proving that the team possesses the talent and determination needed to compete at the highest level.
Speaking at the ceremony, Haseeb Bin Aziz said it was an honor for the Pakistan High Commission to host the national hockey team. He extended his best wishes to the players and officials, emphasizing that millions of Pakistanis continue to support and pray for the team’s success.
The reception was attended by several notable figures from the hockey community, including Pervez Sandhela, a member of the Pakistan Hockey Federation’s governing board, team manager and former Olympian Khawaja Muhammad Junaid, and assistant coach Muhammad Waseem, along with other officials and invited guests.
