Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman slammed the federal government for not extending petroleum price relief to the people, it was reported on Saturday.
Giving his reaction on the social media platform “X”, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that oil prices have decreased by $70 per barrel in the international market, but the government is hesitating to provide relief to the people.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the government received petroleum levy from the people during wartime.
The JI Amir said that the government achieved its target to collect the petroleum levy for 11 months.
He said that this is not governance, but the government committed robbery on the income of poor and middle-class segments of society.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the government proved that it is not the real representative of the people, instead they are representative of oil distribution companies.
