Iran conndemns US actions after renewed military escalation

Iranian officials have strongly criticized the United States following fresh military tensions, accusing Washington of violating diplomatic commitments and threatening regional stability.

Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said the latest US actions proved that the American leadership does not respect either negotiations or ceasefire agreements. He argued that Washington had once again launched military action against Iran during an ongoing diplomatic process, describing the move as irresponsible and damaging to international trust.

Azizi warned that the alleged violation of the ceasefire would eventually bring political and strategic consequences for the United States. He also stated that blaming others for the growing conflict would no longer be an effective strategy, adding that Iran would hold the US accountable for its actions.

Earlier, Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, also condemned the United States. He claimed that Washington had created tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and violated the memorandum of understanding signed after talks held in Islamabad and finalized in Switzerland. According to Rezaei, Iran would respond immediately and decisively to any breach of the agreement.

The latest exchange of accusations followed reports that the United States carried out military strikes against Iranian targets after the signing of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding. The US Central Command said its forces launched an airstrike in response to what it described as an Iranian attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that American forces targeted Sirri Island but failed to achieve their objective. The IRGC further stated that Iranian forces had struck several US military positions in the region and warned that any future American attack would receive a swift and decisive response.

The exchange of statements highlights the continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington, raising fresh concerns about security and stability across the Gulf region.
