Talks between Balochistan govt, protesting doctors fail

The protest movement by doctors in Balochistan has entered a new phase as the talks between the Young Doctors Association (YDA) and the Balochistan government failed on Tuesday.

A heavy contingent of police was deployed inside the Civil Hospital, which also halted the rally of protesting doctors. The police also sealed all the exit points of the hospital.

Speaking at a press conference in Civil Hospital Quetta, YDA leaders said they will announce their next line of action soon.

YDA President Dr Hai Baloch said doctors have shown patience and restraint throughout the protest. He stated that their demands are legal and constitutional and challenged the government to identify any request. that violates the law.

The doctors warned that if their demands are not accepted within the next 24 hours, they will expand their protest movement. They announced plans to stage a sit-in outside the Red Zone at 12 noon as part of the next phase of demonstrations.

YDA leaders stressed that the protest will remain peaceful. However, they warned that the scope of the movement could be widened if the government continues to ignore their demands.
