Much needs to be done to improve Pakistan’s white-ball cricket, says Mike Hesson

Pakistan white ball head coach Mike Hesson has said that although the white ball team is going in a right direction, still much needs to be done, it was reported on Saturday.

Speaking to former Pakistani batsman Salman Butt, who is known for his beautiful straight drives, Hesson has said that the team will have to understand the requirements of present-day white-ball cricket. “What Pakistan needs is multi-skilled cricketers and good fielders,” he has said.

He has further said that Pakistan has made tangible progress in T-20 Cricket. “However, taking good decisions in big games will be our greatest test,” the head coach has said, adding that perseverance is required if the team is to win the World Cup.

Hesson has said that the team expects to play over 20 matches before the start of the one-day World Cup.

He is of the view that in case young cricketers are included in the team, they should not be immediately dropped because they failed to perform.
