Navy, PMSA find wreckage of missing cargo plane in Arabian Sea

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy (PN) and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) have located the wreckage of a missing K2 Airways Boeing 737 cargo aircraft following a joint search and rescue operation in the Arabian Sea.

According to an official statement, the aircraft had gone missing the previous night, prompting an extensive search involving Pakistan Navy and PMSA assets.

Authorities said the wreckage was successfully identified after a 12-hour search and rescue operation.

The debris was located approximately 53 nautical miles south of Ormara in deep waters of the Arabian Sea.

Officials confirmed that the wreckage has been positively identified, while relevant authorities have launched further investigations to determine the cause of the incident and complete other required procedures.

No additional details regarding the aircraft’s crew, cargo or possible casualties were immediately released.

The Pakistan Navy and PMSA said they coordinated closely throughout the operation, highlighting the role of maritime search and rescue capabilities in responding to aviation emergencies at sea.
