Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry on Friday expressed confidence that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would secure victory in the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections, saying the people of the region trust the party’s record of development and public service.
Speaking at a meeting in NA-57 Rawalpindi to review preparations for the AJK elections, Chaudhry said the people of Azad Kashmir believe in stability, development and good governance, and would once again place their confidence in the PML-N leadership.
“The people of Azad Kashmir are politically aware and will make their decision on the basis of performance and development,” he said, adding that the PML-N had consistently promoted merit, public welfare and national unity.
Criticising political opponents, the parliamentary secretary alleged that they had little to offer beyond “chaos and baseless allegations,” while the PML-N had delivered practical measures for national progress and public welfare even during challenging times.
He urged party workers to intensify their election campaign through door-to-door outreach, highlighting the government’s public-friendly initiatives and maintaining unity, discipline and positive political engagement.
“Party workers are the real strength of the PML-N, and their dedication and the trust of the people will ensure a decisive victory,” he said.
Chaudhry also reiterated the party’s commitment to accelerating development, prosperity and public welfare in Azad Kashmir under the PML-N leadership.
The meeting reviewed electoral strategy, organizational matters, voter outreach and campaign responsibilities.
Participants, including former Rawalpindi mayor Sardar Naseem Khan, MPAs Ziaullah Shah and Riffat Abbasi, former MPA Raja Arshad Mahmood, Chief Coordinator Raja Abdul Basit Miskeen, and AJK election candidates Ahmed Raza Qadri and Yasir Lone, pledged to run an effective campaign to ensure the success of the party’s candidates.
