Sri Lanka Women defeated Pakistan Women by six wickets in the first match of the three-match T20I series, it was reported on Friday.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka invited Pakistan to bat first at Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
The visitors set a target of 177 for the Sri Lankans, which was achieved with an over to spare thanks to a brilliant unbeaten century from opener Emesha Dulani.
Pakistan started aggressively, with openers putting together a 66-run partnership.
Captain Muneeba Ali led the charge, scoring 42 off just 24 balls, including nine boundaries.
The green shirts strengthened their position through a 61-run second-wicket stand between Shawaal Zulfiqar and Iman Nasir, taking the total to 127.
However, a late collapse saw wickets fall in quick succession as Pakistan finished on 176 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with 63 runs, while Iman Nasir contributed 21 and Ayesha Zafar added 17.
For Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari claimed two wickets, while Kavya Kavindi, Sugandika Kumari, and Chamudi Praboda each claimed one wicket.
In reply, Sri Lanka comfortably chased the target, reaching 177 for 4 in 19 overs.
Opener Emesha Dulani starred with a magnificent unbeaten 101, anchoring the successful run chase, while captain Chamari Athapaththu provided solid support with 39 runs.
For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu took two wickets, while Hamna Bilal and Umm-e-Hani claimed one wicket each.
Sri Lanka now lead the three-match series 1-0.
The second T20I will be played on August 2, while the third and final match is scheduled for August 4.
