MUZAFFARABAD (Muhammad Aslam Mir) – Political tensions have increased in LA-17 Haveli after Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission could not release the final result of the constituency, leaving the political workers kept claiming victory for their respective candidates.
Polling bags of constituency LA-17 Haveli have been transferred to AJK EC central office in Muzaffarabad on an emergency basis, however, the final results of the constituency have not yet been released.
Polling bags filled with votes were transported to Muzaffarabad under tight security.
According to the Election Commission, the polling bags of LA-17 Haveli have been kept safe and protected.
Political tensions have increased due to delay in the constituency’s election results, with both candidates claiming victory.
PPP candidate Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has claimed that he has received 31,839 votes and has won the constituency.
On the other hand, PML-N candidate Mohsin Aziz said that he has won by a margin of 6,000 votes, however, according to him, attempts are being made to declare him as a defeated candidate through alleged manipulation of the results.
PML-N Azad Kashmir President Shah Ghulam Qadir has expressed serious reservations over the election results, alleging that great injustice was done to party candidate Mohsin Aziz and an attempt was made to deprive him of his legitimate rights by preparing fake results.
Shah Ghulam Qadir said that there is intense anger among PML-N workers and supporters due to the alleged tampering with the results, but he has instructed Mohsin Aziz to keep his supporters peaceful.
He said Mohsin Aziz should use all legal means to achieve his legitimate rights. He hoped that the Election Commission would resolve the matter in accordance with the constitution, law and public mandate without any fear or pressure, and justice would be provided to the PML-N candidate.
