Minister of State and Chairman PVARA Bilal Bin Saqib MBE met Christopher Hui, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, to discuss digital bond issuance, regulatory innovation and how tokenisation can support more efficient capital formation and financial-market operations.
According to a joint statement, the meeting covers discussions on tokenized capital markets, digital bonds and settlement infrastructure.
Bilal Bin Saqib said Hong Kong’s experience offers valuable lessons as Pakistan develops its own next-generation financial architecture. He said Hong Kong can play a pivotal role in connecting Pakistani technology companies with global investors. “Pakistan has established the regulatory foundations for the virtual asset sector”, said Bilal Bin Saqib.
He said the next objective is to translate the regulatory framework into economic outcomes.
Bilal Bin Saqib said Pakistan aims to attract reputable companies for investment and create opportunities for real-world financial applications. He said the focus is on tangible progress in tokenized capital markets and regulatory technology.
Bilal Bin Saqib also meets Duncan Chiu, member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council and held discussion on technology and innovation and potential collaboration in FinTech, Web3, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity was explored during the meeting. Bilal Bin Saqib pledges to foster a secure, transparent, and integrated virtual asset ecosystem in collaboration with global financial hubs.
