Sajjad Haider Khan has officially assumed charge as the new Foreign Office spokesperson, replacing Tahir Hussain Andrabi, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Sajjad Haider Khan hails from Gilgit-Baltistan and is currently serving as Director General South Asia and Foreign Office spokesperson.
He has served in Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in Damascus, Budapest, Berlin and Jakarta and holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belarus from 2020 to 2025 and speaks Urdu, English, Arabic and Balti, with proficiency in German, Indonesian and Russian.
The appointment notification was issued, with Tahir Andrabi introducing Sajjad Haider Khan during his final briefing and saying he would now serve as Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva.
He also expressed confidence in Sajjad Haider Khan to lead the spokesperson’s office successfully.
