The 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League is tentatively scheduled to begin on March 19, 2027, with the final expected to be played on May 2.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has agreed on the proposed window, although the dates will be formally confirmed after consultations with the PSL franchises.
The broadcaster had reportedly favoured an earlier January start to attract sponsorship opportunities, while franchise owners preferred an April window. The PCB has settled on a March-May schedule as a compromise.
PSL 12 will take place after Eid as Ramadan is expected to begin on February 8 next year. However, the tournament will once again overlap with the Indian Premier League, which is scheduled to run from March 10 to May 15.
The PSL has faced similar scheduling clashes in previous years, but officials believe the overlap has not significantly affected the league’s domestic viewership or fan interest.
The timing could also benefit the PSL by attracting overseas players who are not part of the IPL. Several franchises have already started contacting international players, with a number of high-profile names reportedly being considered for their PSL debuts.
The date for the player auction has not yet been finalised. Venue selection and other logistical arrangements are also expected to be completed in the coming weeks as preparations accelerate.
