Court extends bail granted to Shah Mehmood Qureshi in May 9 cases

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Tuesday extended the interim bail granted to PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in different cases, including Jinnah House, Askari Tower attack cases, until November 6.

The court directed the lawyers to give arguments at the next hearing.

Jail warrant papers of the PTI leader were presented in the court on the occasion.

Qureshi had filed interim bail petitions in different cases, including that of torching of the PML-N’s office and containers at Kalma Chowk, prior to his arrest.

However, they were rejected after he was taken into custody.

Later, they were restored on the Lahore High Court (LHC) orders.

Out of 14 May 9 cases registered against the PTI leader, he has been acquitted in six of them.
