KARACHI: Pakistan’s stock market closed in negative territory on Thursday after a volatile trading session, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing more than 1,100 points.
The market opened on a positive note, with the benchmark index gaining more than 500 points to reach 169,095 points during early trading.
However, selling pressure emerged later in the session, reversing the initial gains and pushing the market into negative territory.
At the close, the KSE-100 Index fell 1,138 points to 167,441 points.
The benchmark had closed at 168,580 points in the previous trading session after gaining 120 points.
The latest session reflected sharp intraday volatility as investor sentiment shifted from early buying to selling pressure.
