KARACHI: Two prosecution witnesses on Friday identified drug dealer Anmol, also known as Pinky, in a case involving alleged facilitation of drug trafficking in Karachi.
The identification took place during a hearing at an Additional District and Sessions Court. The accused Anmol alias Pinky appeared before the court through video link.
The case concerns allegations that she helped drug dealers coordinate the supply of narcotics.
The witnesses included Lady Constable Sonia Ashraf and investigation officer Mansoor. During the hearing, both identified Anmol as the accused in the case.
During the hearing, Constable Sonia told the court that authorities had arrested her within the limits of the Garden police area. The testimony forms part of the prosecution’s efforts to establish its case against the accused.
Public prosecutor Shakeel Abbasi told the court that call detail records supported the allegation that Anmol remained in contact with drug dealers.
He further claimed that suspects supplied drugs at locations provided by her. The prosecution presented these claims as evidence of her alleged role in facilitating drug distribution. However, the allegations remain subject to the judicial process.
According to the prosecution, the Counter Terrorism Department registered the case against Anmol in 2018. The latest hearing focused on witness identification and the evidence presented by the prosecution.
The court proceedings are expected to continue as the case moves forward. Further hearings may examine additional evidence and statements from witnesses.
Anmol has also faced other legal proceedings involving alleged drug and weapons recoveries. Previous reports stated that a court ordered her appearance in related cases. She was also reportedly acquitted in three drug cases.
However, those proceedings are separate from the current case. The latest identification by two prosecution witnesses marks another development in the ongoing legal proceedings against her.
