Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaurdhry has said that the government has dealt with PTI long marches before, and this long march will also be effectively neutralized as all arrangements it have been finalized to handle it.
Talking to a TV channel in Islamabad, law and order situation is worsening in KP. If a state of emergency is imposed, it will not be linked to the long march. A lack of cooperation from the provincial government could become the reason for imposing an emergency.
Tariq Fazal Ch said PTI Secretary General states that he will not be part of any course of action that leads to the shedding of innocent blood. “I would point out to him that the blood of our armed forces, police personnel, and unarmed civilians is indeed being shed. Measures are being taken to address this, and the perpetrators are being brought to justice”.
He said that this was the very cooperation the federal government is seeking from the provincial government.
Tariq Fazal Ch, “Terrorism was not imposed upon you; rather, you imposed it yourselves”. This is because you always spoke of negotiating with terrorists and of resettling them. He said PTI leader consistently advocated for opening their offices here.
Tariq Fazal Ch expect the Tehreek-e-Insaf to come to its senses regarding the complete failure to control terrorism and the lack of cooperation in countering it. He said twelve districts are severely affected by terrorism; eight are in the former FATA region, and four are in the settled areas.
Fazal Ch said Pakistan cannot afford any confrontation; the country needs stability. “You are roaming freely—including during your long march—in districts that are “no-go areas” for others. No other party is permitted to enter those areas, yet you feel safe there. You should clarify exactly what kind of connections you have that ensure your safety in those places. He said Maulana Fazlur Rehman was a shrewd politician; he is a valued figure. “If the PTI’s mandate were in Maulana’s hands, he would be in a position of significant influence. There are conflicting views regarding Maulana even within the PTI itself”.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman can play an effective role only if the PTI grants him full authority.
