ISLAMABAD: The government has re-invited NA Opposition Leader Mehmood Achakzai for a meeting in the speaker’s chamber after he declined a previous invitation for appointments to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said that the NA speaker’s chamber was not government property but a state venue, adding that the opposition leader should visit for talks.
Chaudhary maintained that the National Assembly belonged equally to both the government and the opposition, describing NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as “an impartial” person.
