Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat has made a remarkable leap in the latest ICC men’s T20I rankings, climbing 187 places to 45th following his impressive performances against Sri Lanka.
The left-handed batter earned 533 rating points after scoring 50 and 96 in the first two matches of the series, emerging as one of Pakistan’s biggest gainers in the latest rankings update.
Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan retained third place among T20I batters after a record-breaking series against Sri Lanka, further strengthening his position among the world’s leading players in the format.
Farhan accumulated 238 runs across three matches, reaching 883 rating points. He trails India’s Ishan Kishan, who leads the batting rankings with 904 points, and Abhishek Sharma, who occupies second place with 891.
Farhan’s aggregate surpassed Abhishek’s previous record of 229 runs in a three-match T20I series, achieved against Afghanistan earlier this year.
India captain Shreyas Iyer also reached a career-best fourth position after moving up three places to 798 points, following his maiden T20I century against the West Indies.
England’s Harry Brook remains fifth, while Jos Buttler and South Africa’s Dewald Brevis share sixth place.
Mixed fortunes for Pakistan batters
Pakistan’s latest rankings reflected both significant gains and setbacks.
Saim Ayub climbed four places to 42nd with 550 points, while Babar Azam slipped four positions to 48th with 528 points.
Hasan Nawaz shares 51st place with Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera, with both players holding 526 points. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha dropped five places to 56th with 520 points.
Elsewhere, Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis advanced three positions to 23rd with 624 points, while West Indies batter Sherfane Rutherford climbed 13 places to a career-best-equalling 24th with 620 points.
India’s Sanju Samson also made progress, moving up four places to 27th with 605 points.
Salman Mirza climbs among leading bowlers
Pakistan’s bowlers also recorded notable gains, with fast bowler Salman Mirza climbing nine places to 14th in the T20I bowling rankings.
Mirza has 635 rating points, just two behind England’s Jofra Archer and South Africa’s Corbin Bosch, who share 11th place with 637 points.
Abrar Ahmed remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler, sharing fourth position with England’s Adil Rashid on 695 points. Australia’s Adam Zampa occupies second place with 700 points, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan leads the rankings with 720.
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz also moved up six places to 18th with 626 points.
Shaheen Shah Afridi sits 40th with 572 points, while Sufyan Moqim slipped three places to 53rd with 532 points.
The latest update highlights Pakistan’s growing depth in T20 cricket, with Maaz’s dramatic rise and Farhan’s continued success providing particular encouragement ahead of upcoming international assignments.
While Farhan remains firmly among the world’s elite batters, Maaz’s rapid climb underlines how strongly a productive international series can influence individual rankings.
