LPG prices fall by up to Rs150 per kg as Iranian supplies reach Pakistan

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) priced have dropped by up to Rs150 per kilogram across Pakistan as tankers carrying Iranian LPG have started arriving in the country through the Taftan land border crossing.

The arrival of Iranian LPG supplies has contributed to a significant decline in market prices, providing potential relief to consumers struggling with high fuel costs. LPG prices have reportedly fallen to around Rs480 per kilogram in various parts of the country.

The price reduction is expected to ease some of the financial pressure on households that rely on LPG for cooking and other domestic needs. The fuel is particularly important in areas where natural gas connections are unavailable or supplies remain insufficient.

The entry of Iranian LPG tankers through Taftan has increased the availability of the fuel in the domestic market. The additional supplies are expected to influence local prices as distributors and dealers receive more LPG.

However, actual prices may vary across cities and regions depending on transportation costs, supply conditions and local market demand.

The decline of up to Rs150 per kilogram marks a substantial reduction for consumers who have been paying high prices for LPG. Further changes in prices will depend on the continuity of supplies through the border crossing and conditions in the local market.
