Islamabad: Senate committee on Friday has rejected amendments related to the use of the electronic voting machines (EVM) in elections.
During the session of the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, reform regarding I-voting for overseas Pakistanis has also been rejected.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Azam Swati accused the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of taking money during the polls and making fun of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, government representatives and ECP members staged walkouts from the meeting in protest.
On the other hand, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja has expressed resentment over the allegation and summoned a key session on Monday to discuss this matter.
Sources told that special secretary ECP Zafar Iqbal will brief the members.
