Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared a rare family photograph with husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya on the occasion of their 18th wedding anniversary amid discord rumours.
The image, posted on Aishwarya’s official Instagram account, featured the trio posing together in what appeared to be a moment of familial warmth. Abhishek is seen with his arms around Aishwarya and Aaradhya, while the actor captioned the post with a simple white heart emoji.
The photograph marks the family’s first social media appearance together in over a year, and comes amid months of persistent rumours about tensions between the couple. The rumours intensified after Aishwarya was not spotted at various Bachchan family gatherings and public events in recent months, nor was she seen in Abhishek’s social media updates.
However, the picture, which went viral within hours of being uploaded, was widely interpreted as a sign that the couple remains united. Fans flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages. “Finally sab thik ho gaya… nothing is more important than family,” one user wrote. Others hailed them as an “evergreen couple” and praised their poised appearance.
Just two weeks earlier, a video clip of the couple dancing to their hit song Kajra Re at a family wedding along with Aaradhya had also circulated online, suggesting that the family was spending quality time together away from the public eye.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in what was a private ceremony attended only by close friends and family. Speaking previously on Koffee With Karan, Abhishek had explained the subdued nature of their wedding, citing his grandmother’s ill health at the time. “We do not feel good about going out there and having a big celebration,” he had quoted his father Amitabh Bachchan as saying.
While Aishwarya’s post garnered thousands of likes and comments—including a nod from global actor Priyanka Chopra—Abhishek had not acknowledged or shared the photo on his own social media platforms as of Monday morning.
On the professional front, Abhishek was last seen in Amazon Prime Video’s Be Happy, and is reportedly part of Housefull 5 and Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming project King. Aishwarya, who last appeared in Mani Ratnam’s historical drama Ponniyin Selvan series, has yet to announce her next venture.
