Amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, Pakistan cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan expressed solidarity with the country, calling for unity and courage in the face of external threats.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Rizwan drew on Islamic teachings to emphasize restraint but firmness in the event of aggression. “We have learned from the pure words of Allah SWT not to initiate war — but if war is imposed upon you, do not retreat,” he wrote.
Referring to Pakistan’s long battle with terrorism, Rizwan remarked that “generations have grown up hearing gunfire and explosions,” highlighting the resilience of the nation.
“This land is soaked with the blood of martyrs. And still, there are young men here who love death the way others love life.”
In a strongly worded message, Rizwan added, “No one can defeat a nation like this. Every war forced upon us only unites, awakens, and strengthens us.”
The cricketer concluded his post with a call to courage and justice, stating: “This is a message for all who have the capacity to understand. We must have courage. We must have faith. We will neither commit oppression nor tolerate it.”
