After directives of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a high-level delegation from Iraq on Friday visited the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Headquarters in Islamabad to strengthen cooperation on border management.
The Iraqi delegation’s visit is part of the “Rights-Based Border Management” project. On arrival, the delegation was warmly received by FIA Additional Director General Jan Mohammad.
The Iraqi delegation was apprised of FIA’s mandate and its operations. FIA Immigration control is playing a vital role in curbing cyber crimes in the country.
A comprehensive briefing was also given to the FIA delegation about the different units of the FIA. The delegation was also apprised about the Risk Analysis Unit’s intelligence based on Risk Management.
The forensic laboratory is playing a key role in the investigation of cases. The delegation was also informed about the role of the FIA Academy.
The Iraqi delegation also visited Islamabad International Airport. During the visit, the Iraqi delegation was briefed about the latest border control systems and second-line border control.
The head of the Iraqi delegation thanked the FIA DG and other officials for the warm welcome. Both countries agreed to further strengthen border management.
The Iraqi delegation lauded the International Centre for Migration Policy Development’s role in knowledge and its process.
