Ali Zafar’s Ruxana tops Instagram trends

Ali Zafar has scored a major digital win as his latest track, Ruxana, has climbed to the No. 1 spot on Instagram trends.

The song, which has been widely shared and discussed across social media, showcases Ali Zafar’s signature blend of contemporary music with soulful melodies.

Social media reports noted that Ruxana trending at No 1 reflects the growing anticipation for Ali Zafar’s album, Roshni.

Ali Zafar’s team hinted that Roshni will offer a fresh musical experience while staying true to the artist’s unique style, blending contemporary pop, soulful melodies, and meaningful lyrics.

Ali Zafar is making a formal comeback to full-length albums after a 15-year gap.

He’s already put out the first track from the project, Zalim Nazron Se, which arrived in late November and gave fans an early taste of the record.

Ahead of the album launch, Zafar has been previewing songs at live appearances.

He also performed unreleased songs from the album at high-profile events, including at the DP World ILT20 opening ceremony, providing a chance for listeners to hear the new material in a large-audience setting before the official drop.

Ali Zafar is widely regarded as one of South Asia’s most versatile entertainers – a singer-songwriter, actor, painter, and performer whose career has spanned over two decades. He first shot to fame with his debut album Huqa Pani (2003), whose breakout track “Channo” became a massive hit. The album sold millions of copies worldwide and earned him the Best Album honour at the Lux Style Awards.

Over the years, Zafar continued to deliver chart-topping songs, from peppy pop hits like “Masty” and “Dekha,” to more soulful and experimental tunes on albums such as Masty (2006) and Jhoom (2011).

But Zafar didn’t stop at music alone. He ventured into acting, achieving notable success across both Pakistani and Indian cinema. His Bollywood debut in Tere Bin Laden (2010) earned him widespread acclaim, followed by roles in popular films such as Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, London, Paris, New York and Chashme Baddoor.

Back home, Zafar also produced and starred in the blockbuster Pakistani film Teefa in Trouble (2018), reinforcing his reputation as a multi-talented entertainer.

His work has not gone unrecognized: he has earned multiple music and film awards over his career, including several Lux Style Awards, an MTV Style Award for Best Male Artist, as well as civilian honours in Pakistan for his contributions to the arts.
