LAHORE: Pakistan’s national cricket team is likely to witness major changes ahead of upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
Reports suggested that key senior players are likely to be excluded from the squad. The decision to make these changes comes as the team looks toward their future preparations, specifically focusing on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and the 2028 T20 World Cup.
The team management and selectors are in favor of giving opportunities to younger players in order to build a more robust and sustainable lineup for upcoming international events.
As part of this shake-up, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, and Mohammad Nawaz may be left out of the squad. The focus is on bringing fresh talent into the fold and laying down a strategic long-term plan for the team’s success.
The three-match ODI series against Bangladesh is scheduled for March 11, 13, and 15, 2026, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Pakistan’s team is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on March 9, though the tense regional situation could potentially affect the tour’s schedule.
