Islamabad United have signed Sri Lankan batsman Pavan Rathnayake as a replacement for Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, the franchise said Airee is returning to represent the Nepal national side. United head coach Luke Ronchi said the pitches in the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) ongoing edition have proved more challenging than usual.
He said the presence of players familiar with Asian conditions remains essential.
Ronchi added that Rathnayake possesses experience of playing in such conditions.
