Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met the British High Commissioner Jane Marriott to discuss the current situation in the region and ongoing diplomatic efforts, it was reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, during the meeting, both sides exchanged views on regional developments and the need to promote dialogue to resolve conflicts.
Dar briefed the envoy on Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging peaceful negotiations.
He outlined the country’s role in facilitating dialogue and emphasised its commitment to supporting efforts that lead to stability in the region.
The deputy prime minister also highlighted Pakistan’s contribution to bringing the United States and Iran closer to the negotiating table.
Ms Marriott appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability. She acknowledged the country’s role in encouraging dialogue between the United States and Iran and commended its constructive approach in addressing regional challenges.
