Pakistani athletes delivered a strong performance at the Asian Beach Games, winning two silver medals in wrestling and a bronze medal in kabaddi, bringing the country’s total medal tally to three.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, international wrestler Muhammad Inam Butt and Asadullah both reached the finals but were defeated by opponents from Iran.
Despite the final losses, both athletes showed strong performances throughout the tournament, winning several key matches on their way to the decisive bouts.
Pakistan Wrestling Federation president Arshad Sattar congratulated the wrestlers, coaches and officials, saying the athletes had raised the national flag with pride and delivered an excellent sporting performance.
He added that although the wrestlers fell short in the finals, they demonstrated remarkable determination, hard work and fighting spirit.
The federation’s secretary general thanked the Pakistan Olympic Association, the Pakistan Sports Board, Pakistan WAPDA and the Pakistan Army for their support.
Inam Butt said the success was made possible due to full backing from these institutions.
