Interpol issues Red Notices against Malik Riaz, his son

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Lt General (r) Nazir Ahmed has announced that Interpol has issued Red Notices against property tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz on Wednesday.

He said a red notice request was made by Pakistani law enforcement agencies to Interpol to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

The NAB chairman made the remarks during a briefing on the bureau’s performance. Ahmed said the NAB was sending a team for the extradition of both Riaz and his son.

Talking about NAB performance, NAB Chairman Lt General (r) Nazir Ahmed said that NAB gets record recovery of Rs 2.962 trillion in first quarter of 2026 which is 33 times increase in recovery compared to first quarter of last year.

NAB Chairman said that NAB Karachi and Sukkur recover 54,387 acres of government land worth Rs 2.89 trillion. NAB Lahore and Multan recovered 4,034 acres of government land worth Rs 23.33 billion. NAB Balochistan recovered 51,577 acres of government land worth Rs 36.54 billion.

Rs 1.78 billion was returned to 6,475 victims in cases of fraud from the public.

He said that direct recovery of Rs 11.085 billion in plea bargains and fines. 900,000 acres of government land worth Rs 4.37 trillion identified in Punjab. Land worth Rs 10.96 trillion identified in Sindh; task forces formed for recovery. The misuse of government lands will be stopped and the assets will be deposited in the national treasury.
