The International Cricket Council (International Cricket Council) has released its latest annual rankings update, confirming Australia’s continued dominance in both men’s Test cricket and women’s One Day Internationals.
According to the updated rankings, performances from May 2025 onwards have been given full weightage, while results from the previous two years have been reduced to 50 percent impact — a system that has slightly reshaped positions across formats.

In the men’s Test rankings, Australia remain firmly at the top with 131 points, maintaining their reputation as the world’s most consistent red-ball side. South Africa hold second place with 119 points, continuing their strong run in Test cricket.
India have climbed one spot to third with 104 points, while England have slipped to fourth place on 102 points. England’s drop is largely linked to older results being removed from the calculation cycle, including previously strong series wins against New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan.
Pakistan national cricket team also made gains in the latest update, moving up one place to sixth in the Test rankings with 89 points. Their rise reflects improved consistency and a seven-point increase in overall rating.
Further down the table, Sri Lanka sit seventh, followed by West Indies in eighth, Bangladesh in ninth, and Zimbabwe moving up to tenth. Ireland, meanwhile, has dropped out of the top 10 due to insufficient Test match participation and will need to play at least two Tests next year to re-enter the rankings.
In the women’s ODI rankings, Australia continue to dominate with 163 points, despite a slight dip in their rating. England remain second with 128 points, while India hold steady in third place.
South Africa occupy fourth, New Zealand fifth, and Sri Lanka sixth, maintaining their respective positions in a competitive mid-table.
Bangladesh Women are ranked seventh with 73 points, narrowly ahead of Pakistan Women, who sit eighth with 72 points — highlighting a tight battle between the two sides.
The ICC has also announced that updated T20 rankings will be released on May 5, followed by the men’s ODI team rankings on May 7, keeping fans eagerly watching for further shifts in global standings.
