CM Maryam Nawaz vows peace, reform, and unity in Punjab Peace Day message

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the goal of observing the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence is to transform the vision of a peaceful and dignified world into reality.

In her message, she emphasized that lasting peace can only be achieved through tolerance, understanding, and mutual respect among all communities. She said these values require collective efforts from society.

She stated that Pakistan has strengthened its identity as a peace-loving nation despite recent global challenges. According to her, the country continues to contribute positively toward regional and global peace.

Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan’s peaceful image on the international stage is a source of pride. She added that building a united, harmonious, and responsible society is a shared national responsibility.

She highlighted that Punjab has shown improved stability in recent years. She said the provincial government is working to ensure better law and order compared to the past.

The chief minister said every citizen in Punjab deserves equal rights, dignity, and protection, regardless of background. She stressed that no discrimination should exist based on ethnicity, religion, or language.

She added that efforts are underway to reduce social, sectarian, and cultural tensions through targeted reforms and long-term policy measures.

Maryam Nawaz said eliminating extremism in all forms is essential for achieving sustainable peace. She also pointed to ongoing initiatives aimed at empowering women and improving their safety.

She further said that legal and institutional reforms are being introduced to prevent violence and strengthen public protection systems across the province.

Referring to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, she reaffirmed that Pakistan must continue moving toward a society based on respect, justice, and unity.

She concluded that the Punjab government remains committed to building a peaceful and inclusive society where all citizens can live with dignity and security
