Banks to remain closed on July 1 across Pakistan

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that banks and financial institutions across Pakistan will remain closed on July 1, 2026, due to the start of the new financial year, it was reported on Tuesday.

According to the central bank, Wednesday, July 1, will be observed as a bank holiday, due to which all banks will remain closed for public dealings and transactions.

The announcement stated that development finance institutions and microfinance banks will also remain closed due to the holiday.

However, bank employees will attend offices as usual, while public banking transactions and customer services will remain suspended for the day.

Banks will resume normal working hours with effect from July 2, 2026.
