The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has recognised the intra-party elections of four political parties and issued formal notifications confirming the approval, according to reports on Wednesday.
The parties whose internal elections have been accepted include Aam Aadmi Tehreek Pakistan, Pakistani Awami Inqalabi League, Allah-o-Akbar Tehreek and Kisan Ittehad Awami Party.
The Election Commission has issued separate notifications for all four parties following the completion of the required process, formally acknowledging their intra-party elections under the relevant electoral regulations.
With the latest approvals, the number of political parties registered with the Election Commission has reached 167, reflecting the continued expansion of Pakistan’s political landscape.
Despite the recognition of the four parties’ internal elections, Election Commission records show that three political parties remain listed without an approved organisational structure or recognised party head.
These parties are Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and the Pakistan Reform Party.
The status of these parties is linked to the requirement for recognised intra-party elections and the submission of leadership and organisational details in accordance with electoral laws and regulations.
The Election Commission has not announced any further action regarding the parties currently listed without recognised leadership structures.
