Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rao Abdul Kareem on Thursday ordered beefing up the security of consulates of foreign countries in Lahore besides the residences as well as workplaces of Chinese citizens, it was reported.
Presiding over a meeting in Lahore, he ordered that security arrangements be further strengthened during the movement of foreign citizens.
The meeting reviewed the matters related to the security of Chinese citizens and other foreign nationals living in the province besides the repatriation of Afghans and other illegal immigrants.
AIG Operations Zahid Nawaz Marwat, on the occasion, gave a detailed briefing to the meeting.
The IGP ordered that a security order for the Chinese citizens and people of other nationalities living in the province be prepared afresh in consultations with police officers, Special Branch, CTD and security agencies.
He also ordered expediting the repatriation of the Afghans and other foreigners living illegally in the province.
