Salman Raja says PTI will continue political struggle, slams govt’s economic recovery narrative

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said that Opposition will continue its political struggle despite growing repression by the government in the country.

Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, Salman Raja expressed grief over the deaths of 14 children in Lahore’s Kahna area, saying the tragedy reflected the government’s failure to provide safe educational infrastructure and basic public services.

He criticized the Punjab government, saying that despite presenting five budgets over the past four-and-a-half years, conditions in education, healthcare, roads, and civic infrastructure have not improved.

He rejected the government claims of economic recovery, calling them false as recent the World Bank’s assessment of Pakistan economy.

He also accused the federal government of excessive borrowing and alleged that it was depriving provinces of their financial resources.

The PTI leader said the party stood with the affected families and pledged that PTI would continue to emerge as both a political and social force across the country. He reiterated the party’s demand for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, alleging they were being held unjustly.

Salman Raja maintained that PTI remained united despite legal cases against its leaders and workers, vowing to continue what he termed the party’s struggle for justice and constitutional rights.
