Tankers Association gives govt 72 hours for fulfillment of their demands

Giving the government an ultimatum of 72 hours, All Pakistan Tankers Association and contractors said on Thursday that there would be a countrywide wheel-jam strike if their demands were not met.

Addressing a joint press conference in Karachi, they said that the Ministry of Petroleum and OGRA will be responsible for the strike.

They demanded an increase in the quota for White Oil Pipeline.

Speaking on the occasion, Abidullah Afridi said that oil tankers’ fares had not increased for the last three years, while, on the other hand, toll tax on motorways had jumped by 180 per cent.

He demanded the government to increase the fares in proportion to the toll tax.

Afridi said it was the Ministry of Petroleum and OGRA which forced the association to take the decision.
