KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the final trading session of the week in negative territory, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index closing lower amid continued selling pressure.
Trading opened on a bearish note, with the market witnessing a sharp decline of more than 1,800 points during the session. At one stage, the KSE-100 Index dropped to 169,885 points, reflecting weak investor sentiment.
However, the market recovered part of its losses during the day. By the close of trading, the benchmark index had settled at 171,021 points, down 718 points from the previous session.
The decline followed heavy losses in the previous trading session, when the KSE-100 Index had closed 2,690 points lower at 171,739 points.
The latest decline extended the market’s losing streak, with investors remaining cautious amid ongoing uncertainty and profit-taking activity.
Despite the intraday recovery, the overall session reflected a negative trend, resulting in a decline in the market’s overall value and contributing to significant losses for investors.
