Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that an additional Rs43.2 billion would be distributed among registered workers under the Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card Scheme during the current fiscal year.
During a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Monday, Labour Minister Mansha Ullah Butt and Secretary Danish Afzaal provided a detailed briefing.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that “I consider the financial security of every labourer and worker my responsibility.”
“We will further increase the number of workers included in the ration card project,” said Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The CM was told that an amount of Rs28 billion has already been distributed among 1.2 million registered workers under the Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card.
Now the total number of registered workers for Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card has reached 14,03063 in Punjab.
12,44,130 Rashan Cards were already distributed among the registered workers, while printing of 4984 Rashan Cards is still underway.
Registered workers across the province are obtaining essential commodities worth 32,000 rupees monthly from 62,000 shops.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the Ration Card Program for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Over 100,000 workers from the ‘Suthra Punjab’ (Clean Punjab) initiative are also benefiting from the ration card scheme.
