Hajj pilgrims to submit applications under govt scheme from next week

The banks will start receiving applications from intending pilgrims under the Government Hajj Scheme 2027 from next week, whereas the Ministry of Religious Affairs will unveil the official Hajj Police and schedule very soon, it was reported on Monday, quoting sources.

According to the sources, 107,832 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the 60 percent quota of the Government Hajj Scheme, while 71,888 pilgrims will leave for the holy land under the 40 percent quota of the Private Hajj Scheme.

The sources further said that the expenses under the Government Hajj Scheme will be collected in two installments.

Government scheme pilgrims will be able to choose long and short duration Hajj packages, the sources maintained.

Under the government scheme, the expenses for long-duration Hajj are likely to be Rs1.2 million and for short-duration Hajj these would be around Rs1.3 million.

Overseas Pakistanis will also be able to submit Hajj applications and dues.

Previously registered pilgrims will submit Hajj dues, the sources said.
