Federal govt approves civil awards for 78 individuals

The federal government has approved civil awards for 78 individuals in recognition of their sacrifices, courage and acts of extraordinary bravery in service of the country.

The decision was taken at a special committee meeting on gallantry awards chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Saturday.

Addressing the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said it was a national responsibility to recognize and encourage those who had sacrificed their lives for the country and those who had displayed extraordinary bravery in their service.

The interior minister said the great sacrifices of martyrs and the bravery of the ghazis were a national asset and represented a lasting legacy of devotion to the country.
