The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rejected former captain Mohammad Rizwan’s request to hold a press conference, it was reported on Monday.
According to sources, Rizwan had sought permission from the cricket board to address the allegations levelled against him and clarify matters related to the inquiry being conducted concerning him.
However, the PCB did not grant permission for the proposed press conference.
The former captain reportedly wanted to provide details about the confiscation of his mobile phone following the Lord’s Test match and discuss other matters related to the ongoing inquiry.
According to the PCB’s central contract, a contracted player cannot hold a press conference without prior permission from the board.
The development comes amid the ongoing inquiry concerning the former Pakistan captain.
