A vehicle allegedly carrying a consignment of slingshots intended for the PTI’s long march in Peshawar was seized in Islamabad on September 23, it was reported on Thursday.
Police sources said that law-enforcement agencies intercepted and impounded the vehicle and arrested the driver. The protest materials were also set ablaze by the law-enforcement personnel, the sources added.
The seizure comes amid preparations for the PTI’s protest demonstration in Peshawar.
According to police sources, the consignment of slingshots was intended to be used during the protest.
PTI’s previous protest demonstrations have also witnessed incidents of violence, vandalism and law-and-order disturbances.
