SWAT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said peaceful protest is a democratic right and PTI workers are peaceful, stressing that force should not be used against them.
Speaking to the media in Swat, Barrister Gohar said the government had not shown seriousness during negotiations. He said talks also take place during wars, adding that PTI’s long march had not been halted. He said if the government was sincere about negotiations, it should arrange a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan.
He said the party was peaceful and had the right to hold peaceful protests. Barrister Gohar added that PTI’s policy regarding terrorism was one of zero tolerance.
Barrister Gohar said court orders were being ignored and maintained that terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could not be eliminated through the imposition of governor’s rule or an emergency.
