Chinese envoy Jiang Zaidong, Hamza hold talks at PM House

Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, accompanied by a delegation from the Chinese Embassy, ​​met with former Punjab Chief Minister and Member National Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharifat the Prime Minister’s House, it was reported on Thursday.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, the regional situation, and opportunities to further strengthen economic and strategic cooperation.

Hamza Shahbaz Sharif extended congratulations on the occasion of China’s 77th National Day and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the ‘One China’ policy.

He appreciated China’s long-standing friendship and continued cooperation with Pakistan.

Both sides also discussed promoting bilateral trade and investment, particularly enhancing cooperation under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong commended Hamza Shahbaz Sharif’s efforts to further strengthen Pakistan-China relations.

Both sides agreed to maintain close contact and continue the dialogue on matters of mutual interest.

Xu Hongtian, Minister-Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy, ​​and Ali Raza Shah, Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister, were also present at the meeting.
