Lahore’s Sundar Police have impounded a Land Cruiser on Wednesday, linked to YouTuber Rajab Butt after discovering that the vehicle was carrying a fake and non standard number plate.
According to a spokesperson for the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, police intercepted the vehicle near the National Fertilizer Corporation (NFC) Bridge.
The driver, identified as Musa Khan, reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the suspicious number plate.
Police registered a case against the driver, while further legal proceedings are underway to establish the vehicle’s ownership and investigate the number plate violation.
The incident comes after an ongoing Lahore Police crackdown on vehicles displaying fake and non standard registration plates.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said that 1,508 cases had been registered as part of the campaign so far.
He stressed that the law applies equally to everyone and that no individual is exempt from legal action.
He added that authorities are continuing efforts to ensure the proper identification of vehicles and prevent criminal activities.
