KP orders review of all ongoing public procurement cases

PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary’s Office of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed all administrative departments to review ongoing public procurement cases to ensure transparency, compliance with rules and effective use of public funds.

In a directive issued to administrative secretaries and heads of attached departments, the authorities were instructed to examine ongoing procurement processes involving goods, construction works and services.

The review will assess each case individually, taking into account departmental needs, priorities, available funds and applicable legal requirements.

Officials have also been directed to ensure transparency and protect the public interest throughout the procurement process from initiation and scrutiny to evaluation and approval.

Administrative secretaries will oversee the exercise in their respective departments, attached directorates and divisional and district offices.

The Chief Secretary’s Office clarified that the directive does not call for the blanket cancellation of ongoing procurement cases.

Instead, decisions will be made on a case by case basis in accordance with the findings of the review and relevant rules and regulations.
