ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has assured Pakistan of full support in making the visa process easier for Pakistani workers and resolving their other issues, it was reported on Friday.
The assurance was given by Saudi Ambassador Dr Rajeh bin Tami Albugami during a meeting with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
The two sides discussed long-standing relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, issues faced by Pakistani workers and ways to create more job opportunities for them.
The Saudi ambassador said his government would help speed up visa issuance and provide support for processing workers’ visas within 24 hours.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain stressed the need to create more employment opportunities for skilled Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia.
He also called for preparing a skilled workforce according to the needs of the Saudi labour market.
Both sides agreed to form a joint working group to address issues faced by Pakistani workers, strengthen cooperation between relevant institutions, and promote human resource development.
