ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has once again summoned 25 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members over alleged involvement in negative propaganda.
Sources revealed that on Friday, the JIT had initially summoned these individuals. Among them, PTI leaders Barrister Gohar, Rauf Hassan, and Shah Farman appeared before the investigation team, facing five hours of questioning. Shah Farman reportedly displayed inappropriate behavior, prompting the JIT to ask him additional and tough questions.
The JIT has now summoned PTI leaders and members of its social media team again on March 11, 2025. The list of those summoned included Salman Akram Raja, Rauf Hassan, Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Muhammad Khalid Khurshid, and Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal.
Other individuals receiving summons included Aun Abbas, Alia Hamza Malik, Muhammad Shehbaz Shabbir, Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shauzab, Taimur Saleem Khan, and Asad Qaiser. Additionally, Shah Farman, Asif Rasheed, Muhammad Arshad, Sibghatullah Warraich, Azhar Mashwani, Muhammad Noman Afzal, Jibran Ilyas, Salman Raza, Zulfi Bukhari, Moosa Warraich, and Ali Malik have also been called for questioning.
The JIT is conducting investigations based on evidence related to alleged anti-state propaganda.
It was formed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, as per Notification F.No.8/9/2024-FIA/.
Headed by the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, the JIT has warned all summoned individuals to clarify their positions on the matter.
